Cats are friendly, loving and funny friends that can be affectionate and gentle companions. Many people who grew up with a cat in the household sometimes feel that a home is not complete without a resident feline. A great poet once wrote that the cat is the "visible" soul of the household. Adopting a cat means adding another member to your family who will be a loyal friend and a constant companion.

  Cats are independent by nature to some degree though. They will clean and groom themselves, like to spend moments alone and away from the rest of the world. Then other times they will shower you with attention and engage you in play or accompany you while reading your book or on the computer.

   Most cat owners agree that you never really 'own' your cat and quite possibly there is a feeling that your cat owns you. But when kitty sits on your lap or purrs you can be rest assured that your cat will always be there for you.
