Do cats have arthritis?
by
KittyKondo.com
The short answer is yes. Cats can and do have arthritis pains.
This degenerative joint disease can cause pain and limit the
movement of your cat. Its a good idea to keep older cats indoors
to keep them safe. With restrictions to their movement they may
not be able to run away from danger or protect themselves the
way they used to outdoors.
While indoors make sure your senior cat's litter box is located
in a place easily accessible to your cat. Food and water bowls
should also be placed at a level that is easiest. Your older cat
may have head and/or neck joint pain so elevating the food bowl
may be a welcome comfort.
